Creative Arts Therapy
with deaf children from age 5 to 12 years
As well as offering creative arts therapy to hearing children Cara, our Therapist has 25 years working with deaf children in a variety of settings such as educational, social and community environments and family based activities.
Cara is qualified to BSL level 2 standard and has previous experience supporting deaf children as a volunteer Communicator on National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) and Friends for Young Deaf people (FYD) day events and residential holidays.
Cara is able to offer play & creative arts therapy to children age 3 to 12 years of age who:
- are profoundly deaf with either hearing or Deaf parents.
- are Oral, BSL (British Sign Language), SSE (Sign Supported English) or TC (Total Communication) users.
- have any hearing impairment that affects their communication.
- have a cochlear implant or hearing aids.
